Part-number cross-reference: what a 50 m to 3 km rangefinder actually lists at

Public single-unit prices, each with the quoted string and the page it came from ยท captured 2026-10-25

Buyers comparing a board-level module with a cased instrument usually end up comparing a headline range against a headline price, from two different pages, measured against two different targets. This page puts the part numbers side by side and keeps the test condition attached to the number. Where a vendor does not publish a price, the row says so instead of carrying an estimate.

Prices were read on 2026-10-25 (ERDI list prices from the public price page, updated 2026-10-23). Distributor and marketplace prices move; treat each figure as "as published on that date", not as a standing quote. Volume tiers exist for the iadiy module and for ERDI and are not shown here.

2. Same job, price not published

These are the parts buyers most often put in the same shortlist. Their specifications are public; their single-unit prices are not, so they do not appear in the price table above.

3. The comparison that is actually fair

  1. Range is a test condition, not a number. ERDI long-range figures are stated against a 2.3 x 2.3 m reference target. Dimetix states 0.05-~100 m on natural surfaces and up to 500 m on reflective foil. iadiy states separate building and terrain figures. A 2,000 m module and a 500 m industrial sensor are not in the same class just because both quote metres.
  2. Accuracy class decides the price more than range does. The Dimetix D-series is a +/-1 to +/-5 mm measuring instrument in an IP65 housing with RS-422/SSI and analog options. ERDI modules are metre-class rangefinders on a board. If the job needs millimetres, a $120 board is the wrong part, not a cheaper one.
  3. Board vs cased. LightWare GRF500 at $459 is a cased unit on a distributor shelf. ERDI LR2000E2 at $120 is a board that needs a host, a housing and a harness. Compare landed cost of the function, not the sticker.
  4. Blind zone. The 0.05 m classes (LRF50VB, LRF100H, LRF600H) can read a surface 5 cm away; the 2-3 km E/A classes start at 4 m. A long-range module that cannot see the ground is unusable for terrain following.
  5. Eye safety is a step change. 905 nm is the cheap path to 3 km. 1535 nm is the eye-safe path and costs more per metre: the only public 1535 nm 3 km price we found is $999.99, against $500 for ERDI LRF0105C at the same range.

4. Where the numbers put ERDI

BandPublic anchorERDI partDifference
2 km, 905 nmSICUBE $169.00 sale / $259.00 listLR2000E2 $12029% below the sale price, 54% below list
3 km, 905 nmiadiy LRF3K1LS from $800 (1 pc)LRF3000A1 $20075% below the single-unit price; 63% below the $540 hundred-unit tier
3 km, 1535 nmLumispot ELRF C16 $999.99LRF0105C $50050% below the only public eye-safe 3 km price found
50 mBroadcom AFBR-S50MV85G bare sensor $64.64LRF50VB $708% above a sensor component, for a complete module

Percentages are arithmetic on the two published figures, not a claim about performance. We do not have a public price for a 6-18 km 1535 nm module or for a 100-600 m board module, so no comparison is made in those bands.

5. What this page does not claim

No competitor specification here is quoted from memory or from a reseller's paraphrase: each line is from the vendor page linked in the table. No price is interpolated between bands, and no "typical" or "street" price is used. If a part you are comparing is missing, it is because we did not capture a public number for it, not because it lost a comparison.
